Still hardly old enough to be allowed out of their nappies let alone shorts the guys and gals at Llandegla are holding an evening party based around the theme of the MTB pioneering days of Klunkers. . more details follow but any one with an old Schwinn pre 60’s Klunker get them out as we are going racing.. however turn up with any retro bike ( we reckon that would be any pre V Brake bikes) and associated retro outfits and we’ll try to sort out a race to rival Repack… here’s the invite..To celebrate Oneplanet Adventure’s 3rd Birthday - I know we can’t believe it either! We are throwing a bit of a party - and you’re all invited. Like every good party, its got a theme, and what better way to celebrate the birth of Oneplanet Adventure, than to relive the birth of Mountain Biking! Thats right - We’re having a Klunker’s Bash - So come and step back to the 70’s with us and celebrate all that was great with mountain biking then and now. Klunker was the name given to the very first mountain bikes, and in turn the guys and gals who developed and built the new creations based on old 1930’s US paper boy bikes. Names such as Joe Breeze, Gary Fisher and Joe Murray (Kona) were some of pioneers of the sport and are still heavily involved today So come and join us on the 26th July, at the Trevor Villa just outside Llangollen, where, with your help we can recreate those amazing days, which in turn have meant that we have all found a new path (or should that be technical singletrack)  in life - Mountain Biking. Fancy Dress is the name of the game, and it couldn’t be easier - To look like a true Klunker, just dig out the oldest jeans and lumber jack shirts you can, put on the scruffiest work boots you can find and Voila - One authentic Klunker!
